Workforce Collective

The Workforce Collective brings together education, workforce, business, and community partners to strengthen pathways from high school to postsecondary education, employment, and careers.

Partners coordinate employer relationships, career-connected learning, internships, training, and other opportunities while aligning resources and reducing gaps so young people can more easily move from education into meaningful career pathways.

MEAC

The Mayor’s Employer Advisory Council (MEAC) brings together local employers, schools, community organizations, and government partners to expand career pathways for Evanston students.

Launched in 2018, MEAC focuses particularly on the approximately 200 ETHS graduates each year who do not immediately attend a four-year college, helping ensure they have access to meaningful education, training, and career opportunities after high school.

Today, MEAC includes 156 members representing 91 employers across all career pathway sectors, along with education and nonprofit organizations, the City of Evanston, and other community partners. MEAC is led by ETHS’s Department of Early College & Career Experiences.

MEAC works to:

  • Develop sustainable career pathways for students not planning to attend a four-year college immediately after graduation.

  • Build career awareness among District 65 middle school students.

  • Expand access to career experiences and employment opportunities.

  • Strengthen partnerships among schools, businesses, and the broader Evanston community.
