Savings for Success
Savings for Success is a community initiative that helps families begin saving for their child's future while making postsecondary education and career training more accessible. Through a partnership led by YWCA Evanston/North Shore and the
Evanston Community Foundation, eligible District 65 kindergarten and 6th grade students receive incentives to start saving early and build financial assets for their future.
Recognizing that many families face barriers to saving for higher education, the program combines financial incentives, family support, and financial wellness resources to help families take the first step. Participants receive an initial deposit into their account and can earn additional incentives by meeting savings goals, participating in financial wellness programming, and engaging in career exploration opportunities.
As a community partner, Evanston Cradle to Career (EC2C) works alongside YWCA Evanston/North Shore and community organizations to expand awareness of Savings for Success and connect eligible families to the program. Through outreach, school and community partnerships, and the Community Ambassador Program, EC2C helps ensure more families have the information and support they need to participate.
By encouraging families to start saving early and connecting them with resources along the way, Savings for Success is helping build a stronger foundation for children's long term educational and economic success.
